Medgar Evers

TEC5 Medgar Evers served in the 325th Port Company and the Red Ball Express in the European combat theater during WWII. He was the field secretary for the Mississippi NAACCP and a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Jackson when he was martyred on June 12th, 1963. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
