Welcome to The Chapter House
📚 Albany, Oregon’s First Independent Bookstore
Nestled just down the street from the Linn County Courthouse, The Chapter House is more than a bookstore — it’s a front porch for our community. A place for readers, veterans, misfits, thinkers, seekers, and neighbors to gather. Whether you’re here for poetry, philosophy, a graphic novel, or just to sit with a story — you’re welcome here.
We’re working hard to open our doors in time for Veterans Day, November 11, but you don’t have to wait to support us.
🛠 Help Build It Before It Opens
We’re still unboxing inventory and building shelves (literally), but there are already a few ways you can help support this labor of love right now:
🎧 Listen Local with Libro.fm
When you choose audiobooks through Libro.fm and select The Chapter House as your bookstore, you’re putting dollars directly into our future — and stories into your ears.
📦 Order Books Online via Bookshop.org
Buy books online the old-fashioned way, with the assurance that part of every sale supports The Chapter House and other indie bookstores like it.
🤝 Donate or Sponsor a Shelf
Want to go a step further? We’re accepting donated bookshelves, furniture, and fixtures — and even offering shelf sponsorships for supporters who want their name (or someone they love) honored in our store. Get in touch if you have something to give.
🪑 What’s in a Chapter?
This store isn’t just about books. It’s about belonging. It's a space to process hard questions, build community, and host events that matter. Our chapters aren’t just in books — they’re in lives, in healing, in resistance, and in story.
📅 Save the Date: November 11, 2025
Join us for our grand opening on Veterans Day — and help us write this first chapter together.
