Psalm 32

1 Happy are those whose fault is removed,

whose sin is overwritten.

2 Happy are those to whom YHWH imputes no privilege,

and in whose spirit there is no duplicity.

3 While I kept silence, my body wasted away

through my groaning all day long.

4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon my conscience;

my strength was tapped dry as by the heat of summer.

Selah

5 Then I admitted awareness of my mistakes to you,

and I did not hide my privilege;

I said, ‘I will confess my faults to the Lord’,

and you released the burden from my conscience.

Selah

6 Therefore let all who are faithful

offer prayer to you when they can;

but at a time of distress, the rush of mighty waters

turns many saints away.

7 For me, You are that hiding-place;

you preserve me within turbulence;

you surround me with psalms of deliverance.

Selah

8 I will walk before you and teach you the way you should go;

I will counsel you with my eye upon you.

9 Do not be like a horse or a mule, without understanding,

whose temper must be curbed with bit and bridle,

Don’t make me drag you beside Me.

10 Many are the torments of the mistakers,

at least with Me, you will be surrounded by steadfast love.

11 Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you little zadokites,

and shout for joy, all you upright in heart.
