Prayer of Saint Martin the Shepherd (316-397)

Martin, shepherd especially of soldiers, you guide us away from the world of violence and into the peace of Christ. As a soldier, you piously clothed Christ in clothing the beggar. As a priest, you gave drink to the humber parish pastor, prophetically turning the affluent emperor away thirsty. As a bishop, you obeyed Christ in defending your enemy against execution. Pray for us that we might be unyolked from the world and bound to your heavvenly kingdom, now and forever. Amen.
